Church Membership

Church is not an event you attend, it is a family you belong to. Church membership is a mutual commitment between you and the local church to love and care for each other and to follow Jesus together. Church membership is a commitment to live out your faith as a family.

Why Church Membership Matters

Following Jesus places us into a spiritual family. We aren’t meant to live the Christian life alone.
1 Corinthians 12:27: Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.

Spiritual growth happens when others know us well enough to encourage us, challenge us, and provide accountability.
Proverbs 27:17: As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

Biblical community includes responsibility to one another.
Galatians 6:2: Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

Every believer has been given gifts to build up the church, not just consume from it.
Ephesians 4:16: From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

We ask every member of Lake Springs Church to:

Commit to the Jesus way of living
Prayerfully seek the Holy Spirit to a live a life shaped by the Sermon on the Mount.

Pray without ceasing
Continually be in prayer for the church, it’s leadership, and your church family at Lake Springs.

Gather consistently
Prioritize gathering physically to worship together.

Engage in community
Build meaningful relationships with others within the church.

Serve faithfully
Use your gifts to serve others and build up the church.

Live generously
Respond to God’s generosity by supporting the mission and ministry of Lake Springs Church.

As church leadership, we commit to:

Pray without ceasing
We will continually be in prayer for you.

Teach the Bible faithfully
We will always prioritize sharing and teaching the Word of God in an effort to increase our devotion to Jesus.

Seek the Holy Spirit’s Guidance
We will rely on the Holy Spirit to guide our leadership and shape a church where people can grow in their faith.

Provide pastoral care
Our leadership will make every effort to care for you in your time of need.

Walk your faith journey with you
We were not meant to follow Jesus alone, we will walk alongside of you while we follow Jesus together.

Lead with integrity and humility
We will serve and shepherd with honesty, humility, and a heart that reflects Jesus.

Membership Requirements

Church membership is not about earning a place, it’s about recognizing what God has already done and choosing to live it out together. Before becoming a church member, we ask that you have already done the following:

Have a personal relationship with Jesus
We ask that every member has placed their faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Be Baptized
We encourage every believer to follow Jesus in baptism as a public step of obedience and identification with Jesus.

If you have not taken these steps yet, we would love to talk with you and walk you through your next step in faith.
